Tumblr thread: for people who actually post their own stuff

I can't be the only person who uses Tumblr to post their own work.
I use mine to post instagram photos, mostly for my family back home while I'm living in Philly for school, so they can have that kind of "what you up to?" connection without giving them access to my facebook or anything.

is there a Tumblr app for the iPhone that allows you to upload photos directly? I would be more inclined to use it if there was....

I wish Instagram would hurry up and get a website running to show off what we post on there.

You can set instagram to send to tumblr (the page where is lets you send to facebook, twitter, an e-mail, ect. One option is to a tumblr.)

I mostly use my Tumblr to post my own work. I will sometimes repost some funny shit my friends post on theirs, but it is mostly Instagram photos and other art stuff I work on.

It's a shitty app, but the tumblr app allows you to post everything the way you normally do through your browser.

I just use mine as a boredom killer, I usually just post instagram snaps of games or music i'm currently into etc, and some other stuff. I reblog every now and then if it really warrants it. It's not such a crime (most of the time)

I've been looking for some real people on tumblr also. i just made my account a couple days ago and all i've seen is pages of pictures off google images and reblogs of silly comments or follow me's.

I'm certainly willing to follow others with some originality and out of the box thinking. So come check my page out and hit me up. i'll definitely be checking out and probably following along most of you guys who have your own work going on.

i know i'm a little behind on this sort of thing, but i've just compared pinterest with tumblr, and i've gotta say, i vastly prefer the latter. much smoother, more streamlined, and can easily bend to your whim with a little html.

At first I was confused as to why there was a second tumblr thread. Mine is just my own work, www.laisab.tumblr.com
As a website for portfolio use, I really do like tumblr- I can't afford to pay for my own website but this one is so customizable that it can still look "professional". Plus, the inherent networking quality is good I GUESS. My art professors keep stressing the importance of fucking networking. It still makes me super uncomfortable though. I was also late to the game creating tumblr, because my impression of it (I never created an account so I didn't know *really* how it worked) when it was first becoming popular, was that it was just a visual version of crazy unadulterated internet user content websites like reddit, which I also avoided like a plague because for a long time I thought it worked like 4chan. I realize now the difference now and also am glad I can very very easily avoid the stupid shit on tumblr!

I read one post so far (about your ordeal to write an article) and I really enjoyed it. Possibly because I relate the situation almost too much- recently I stopped using excuses and admitted to friends that I'd rather "stay in and do work" even when I've got plenty of time to do that work. Your writing is very compelling as well, I look forward to using my secret free time to reading more of your blog!

ahh, i just spotted the other tumblr thread, but yeah- it seems to be more about artistic creation/photos/writing there. i haven't used mine for creative content yet, just kind of an assortement of reblogging and youtube clips and occasional blurbs from things i'm reading and resonate. mostly an extension/exploration of my nightmare side so far, so it's an outlet for all that.

that all said, if the powers that be wish to lock or delete this thead- go for it! sorry for treading similar ground.

Thank you! The bit I most enjoyed about writing that was that it was a result of me procrastinating so I wouldn't have to write something entirely unrelated for someone. I'd say I like to blur the lines between fiction and reality with my writing but I think I just write best when I can relate to what I'm writing about to a certain extent (hence the angsty posts about relationships that usually crop up on my website).

It's nice to know someone else is reading my stuff!

As I am not 14, nor a girl, I'm not sure why you believe that should be the title.
