Yeah have an EP ready to release, wait 4-6 months before releasing due to production delays or release digitally now and wait for physical versions to eventually arrive.
Must be a hard decision for any artist. I waited several months before realising that NTAE vinyl wasn't going to ship any time soon so started to listen to the EP more.
I too thought that vinyl release was just around the corner in Dec 16. My vinyl expectations have changed now...

Weird that I've had no problem getting any other big releases from other artists this year on the day they were released.

Are they all on a record label though?

The delay on vinyl production is now built in to the release window (in most cases).

For instance, LCD Soundsystem's new album was finished in the beginning of the summer but they held off on the release until the vinyl could be produced.

don't get even close to Oasis' absolutely dumb practices since "What's the Story Morning Glory" (the loudest popular record in the world).

They (or the producer) have admitted that they did this to hide the fact that they were drunk\shitty guitar players.

It's funny you mention LCD because they were the band that immediately came to mind, due to that big message James made about why the album wasn't being released immediately.

These recent EPs are probably being released online right after getting mastered. So it's either we get it digitally early and have to wait for the physical release, or we have to wait for both the digital and physical to be released at the same time.

Just picked up a copy of Kerrang! (UK) today to check out the NIN (or more accurately Trent/Atticus) interview. A good interview, go pick up a copy. However at the tail end there is release dates for AV.

Vinyl : 17 November 2017

Keep in mind this could be UK release dates since it's from a UK mag.

I'm heading to Walmart this evening as well. I will check as well. I didn't see it at Sunrise when I was there last weekend but honestly I was only looking at vinyl. I did pick up the Vietnam War soundtrack while I was there

it was on Amazon.ca but for $85... I was glad to find it at Sunrise in Pickering for $54.

So Walmart has them for sure? I'll be going there in a few hours. I don't know what Mikes Music is I live in York region so I have a few Walmart I can hit up.

I'm in Canada and I just checked my local Walmart and they definitely did not have it released yet.

Wherever those Instagram pictures came from of people getting it at Walmart for an early release I would have to assume it is localized. There's probably 1000 Walmart stores across the country so a few releasing early wouldn't totally surprised me.

But if Walmart has them that means other stores have them too in there warehouses but no one knows when the real release date because Amazon keeps changing the date. From what I saw 1 guys from PEI. I posted on there instagram asking for more proof as I don't believe them.
