This album is such a treat. I've been trying to get the local jazz/blues station, WGLT, to give some of it a spin.

    Actors&Actresses- Pyre
Amazing band from KC MO. This just came out Monday, it's their "farewell" album, and its insanely good, easily their best imo. Existing somewhere in the realm of Failure, Hum, and Explosions in the sky.

"Now that I know that I'm breaking to pieces, I'll pull out my heart and I'll feed it to anyone."

Needs no comments really. Pretty much everyone knows this album if you're even remotely into The Cure at all. Just beautiful, gorgeous gloom, fantastic sadness and angst that's so thick it's practically palpable. Just a sincere expression of really deep, really honest inner turmoil stemming from addiction, romance and general depression and anxiety. I still love Pornography more, but this is so totally THE Cure album. Every element really just comes together so fucking perfectly, every looping guitar, every moody synth, Smith's tortured vocals, it all comes out so well. It's one of those albums where I can't help but feel something from it every time I've put it on. It's just so immediate, so sincere, so strong.

It's raining right now. This is one of the few albums I will only listen to on a rainy day where there's no sunshine but non-stop rain.

Can't wait for this new album. If you haven't seen A&P live yet, do yourself a favor and check him out. Even if this isn't your style of music, I guarantee his performance will floor you. Absolutely fucking devastating!

my friend's band was supposed to play with them but the booking company were total dicks about there being a girl in the band and them not being "hard" enough or some bullshit, so they dropped out. A&P was pretty pissed about it, from what i heard, because he was excited to play with them.

there's a possibility down the line that one of my bands might play with him.

I guess all the Prayers for Rain finally paid off, ha.

It definitely is a fantastic stormy weather album, both in the literal and figurative sense.

This is extremely random and probably not where this goes at all but can anyone with a what.cd account possibly shoot me a private message (not asking for invites...promise). I just have a question.

Last.fm says that during the last month I've listened to 460 Tomahawk tracks, 280 Melvins tracks and 125 Faith No More tracks. I guess that's what works for me as break-up music.

I feel that one could take that paragraph almost word for word and apply it to Pornography instead but with one exception; the word "Beautiful" would only apply to Disintegration. It's flawless. It was once of those albums I could not listen to more than once in a while when I first got it, because sweet Christ, the feelings it inspired in my teenage self. My chest felt heavy after the first listen. It was indeed raining, as I recall. And here I am, past thirty, and it still gets me every time.
