This is wild, especially The Background World. I'm still trying to parse the lyrics, but it seems like we're getting a clearer picture since NTAE about a scenario involving hypnosis (possibly chemical), simulation, those who are trying to escape, and maybe those who already have? I just can't figure out if this is a Matrix situation with actual people being experimented on, or if they're all AI constructs trapped in apocalyptic simulations. The latter idea is giving me I Have no Mouth, and I Must Scream vibes a little bit.
