Danny Trejo (http://www.reelz.com/person/70955/danny-trejo) is set to return as the title character, who, in the sequel, takes on a Mexican drug cartel leader and a billionaire arms dealer at the request of the U.S. government. Machete Kills was developed by Rodriguez and his brother Marcel, and was written by Kyle Ward (Kane & Lynch). Besides Trejo, other characters from Machete are expected to return, the most obvious being Jessica Alba, though her participation is unconfirmed

Just recently I re-watched the majority of Rodriguez's films and I certainly hope he puts more time and passion into a Machete-sequel since I felt that the first one was just an elongated version of the marvelous trailer with alot of filling scenes. Thereby it became my least favorite film of his after the Faculty (not counting the Spy Kids movies and the other two children-orientated outputs. I like them all in some kind of way, but wouldn't count them in a ranking). Robert knows how to rock and I hope he goes all out with this next installment. The character of Machete and Trejo deserve much more!

On a side-note: Del Castillo (the bigger part of Rodriguez's band Chingon) are coming to Europe this spring. ;)

I am posting the new trailer here mainly as an excuse to type "Machete don't Tweet" into one more place on the internet.

Looks fun, Gaga notwithstanding.

Lady Gaga is better than Sheen, but I will accept his being part of this.

Glad I saw this in theaters. An absolute blast. I particularly enjoyed Demian Bichir and his character - may've stolen the movie for me. Loved the scene with Walton Goggins, too. I think I enjoyed this more than Machete.
