I was like 700th in line when it started, but then I made the mistake of signing in while I was in the waiting room, thinking it would hold my place. Wrong. Got backed all the way up to 1300.

It all worked out in the end though, as I got a pair of tickets to the 12/15 show. My wife and I are going to drive up that morning, go to the show, and then hit up Disneyland the next day. Should be an awesome weekend!

Classically, it's open floor general admission throughout the lower level. Upper level has some seating which is typically sold reserved as an additional VIP tier. At least that's the case the last time I was there for Mastodon in 2017. Others can chime in if this has changed since.

I’m floating the idea of making it to these last two shows as well. However the main thing keeping the idea alive is that I have a huge payday coming on that Friday, so really I’ll only have to figure out how I’m getting there and where I’ll stay for the weekend.

So, if anybody has an extra ticket to either show and is cool with waiting until the day of the show for payment, I’d be ready to set up arrangements to get there and commit to it. Push come to shove I’m gonna keep an eye out online for whatever I can find.

I work in West L.A. and the most we've seen is light smoke. The fires are farther up north and closer to the coast. If you're staying in Hollywood, or North Hollywood area, you'll be fine.

If you want to avoid the trials and terrors of L.A. driving life. Pick a place near a main metro line. The red line stop on Hollywood and Vine is closest to the venue. Avoid Orange line and buses, they blow.

Seller shared a Ticketmaster PDF screenshot over text with the info blocked to show the "actual" ticket info and I paid him via Zelle...got an email from what looked like Ticketmaster (Gmail even flagged it as "Important" because the details match with a previous legit email of the same type) and the no-reply addy actually ended up being a gmail.com address. Ran the PDF ticket barcode number through ticketsnow this morning to see if it was legit and it wasn't. I should have caught that gmail.com detail when we were texting but I was distracted at work and overlooked it, but it was already a done (bad) deal after the Zelle transaction, basically.

Guy still has the listing up and dropped the price massively (I reported it, but doesn't look like it's coming down) so don't fall for it if you're tempted by the CL market.

Thanks. So I did the TM verified resale ticket route for 12/14 and that's totally legit. I was trying to find a better deal for 12/15 which led me down the CL path because Ticketmaster and Stubhub are pushing up higher due to fees, but honestly the peace of mind you get from either of those sites are better than eating the cost of a fake ticket outright. Lesson learned.

I was trying to find a better deal for 12/15 which led me down the CL path because Ticketmaster and Stubhub are pushing up higher due to fees, but honestly the peace of mind you get from either of those sites are better than eating the cost of a fake ticket outright. Lesson learned.

I also got scammed on a 12/15 ticket b hy replying to someone posting tickets for sale via the FB event page. Paypal refunded my cash, but beware.

When the service provider tells you--straight up--not to use their service, it's a pretty compelling sign. I was not familiar with Zelle until, oddly enough, I was looking for NIN tix this fall and the seller asked to use it, but just the tiniest bit of homework and due diligence paid off and I passed.

Craigslist is a cesspool, and TM's Verified Resale is one hell of a racket for TM. Unless the artist sponsors their own exchange, private party with PayPal buyer protection is still the gold standard. eBay reputation ratings are useful, too, and anyone with an account can throw up a buy-now "auction" listing for the buyer after you have negotiated a price, and PP is built right into the site. If a seller can't be bothered to have a freaking eBay or PP account, they're either a crook or an idiot.

For anyone who hates to read fine print, be aware that PP reserves the right to ask for proof from the venue that admission was refused, so if you are ever the victim of a phony ticket scam, have the box office staff document the situation and keep a copy of everything for your records.

The secondary market can be a total pain in the ass, and is often frustrating, but it can be navigated successfully.

Yeah, dont use Venmo or Zelle on these transactions. Use paypal and do it for goods/services, not friends/family. Also, add in stipulations when youre gonna do it. Make the seller create an invoice so their ass is legit on the line, if they dont agree to that, theyre fake and will try to find somebody else. And if it seems way to good to be true, it is. The fb event page just has loads of people who are offering tickets for half price, but they know they can dupe a handful before anyone catches on.

Ticketmaster email sent earlier today had event info and states doors 6:30 show 7:30. Might be a random thing on ticketmaster/live nation. I would suggest maybe tweeting at the venue or posting on their fb to get a confirmation, but most likely the timings stay the same, no reason to move it.
