THE PHYSICAL WORLD presale featured location specific t-shirts, a numbered edition poster, a vinyl slipmat that may or may not be new, & additional merch available on NIN.com. Hopefully folks took some merch pics from their events & will share them here.

Anyhow, this seems like a decent indicator of what we can expect to be available merch wise for the upcoming tour dates. I hope to edit this with more detail once the tour is underway.

I hope they do event-specific shirts for the actual shows — the Day For Night and Riotfest shirts from last year were some of my favorites they’ve done this decade and it always makes a show special when you can have a unique keepsake like that.

GF was at LA location and didn't report back any slip mats there (we went to the merch booth early on) - I have seen slip mats and i think Bat Witch Lithos at other events. Hoping both are available at Las Vegas shows.

1. Is this exclusive to this show and is it something I'd wear often?
2. Is it really really soft?
3. Will S&H from nin.com cost more than buying it here in person?
4. Do I need another NIN shirt?

That usually doesn't stop me from being tempted by them though. I was really close to buying that long black and white "surveillance camera on fire" one from Aftershock last year. I stopped and stared at it for a good 20 mins. I decided against it because I literally have 10 NIN posters rolled up in a tube. I don't have the wall space.

The problem with t-shirts is, they always end up shrinking on me. I was dumb and for all the shows I went to between 2008 and 2013 I bought size medium, but they are all virtually unwearable now because they are all skin tight. I need a size Large now.

I lucked out at the With Teeth 2005 tour. I was still in my "size medium" habits back then, but they were all sold out of the tour shirt in sz Medium at the Toronto shows. I was so bummed, so bought a Large. I never wore the shirt nearly 8 years because I thought it was "too big" and then one day I wore it hiking and I was like "damn, this is a comfy sized shirt" and from that point on it clicked and I got Large shirts.

So now I have an abundance of totally awesome unwearable tour t-shirts in Size medium that just sit in the closet.

It all depends on the band and the make of the shirts as well. For some reason, I bought a size Large tour shirt from TOOL and it's unwearable. It's super small. It's like a medium. It was the last large too, and my buddy tried it on first and was like "nope, too small" and he upgraded to an XL... in hindsight, I should have taken his advice and got an XL. But you really never know until you get it home and wash it once or twice.

Get an art portfolio book. I have one made by ITOYA. It allows me to flip through it to check out my show posters whenever I want without having to worry about wall space.

I wish this trick worked with some of the XL shirts I have... I have a few great shirts from when I was 16 that for some odd reason I decided that XL was "THE" size to get for a 120 lbs guy who was close to 6 feet tall. lol... oh being a teen in the 90s lol...

I have washed and washed and washed those shirts to kingdom come and they just won't shrink. Only the shirts you DON'T want to shrink, will shrink.

I'm trying to buy less black t-shirts because I have like 100, but it's difficult because almost every time I go to a concert, black is by far the dominant color, if not the only color. Iron Maiden: all black. Metallica: all black. Ghost: all black. The A perfect Circle and Tool shirts I got earlier this year were both a charcoal grey, which is better, but most were still black. I'd love a sweet new NIN shirt in red or a light grey or charcoal, but I don't buy white shirts because they get dirty so quickly and they get pit stains in the summer.

The WT tour shirts were much thinner...they shrank and twisted. Same with my Wave Goodbye shirt. But at the going rate for merch shirts these days I just don't bother anymore.

THIS! So much! I have a lot of cool shirts I found while thrift store shopping, but so many of them are XL and no matter how many times I wash them, they won't shrink! Some of them I managed to make into tank tops, but only if they're not vintage.

Yeah, when I started going to a lot of shows I used to make it a rule to pick a shirt from each and every show. Over the years I mellowed out on that. Now, I really think about whether or not I really like the shirt and how much I'll wear it. And that's why I didn't get the Physical World event shirt. I liked that it had my city on the back, but that's about it. I didn't like the design otherwise, so I decided I better save that $25. I bought a pin instead :P

That new poster is definitely the best one he's done. I thought the skull one (which I do actually like) felt more like it should be a poster for TOOL (with the giger-esque design of the skull that recalls the earlier Cam de Leon art from the Ænema era and the step and repeat skeletons feeling very 10,000 Days-era Alex Grey). The typewriter one doesn't feel very NIN to me either. I do think the new one could do without the skeleton standing on the NIN logo, though.

Well I mean, I'm glad they FINALLY decided to make a black tshirt/jacket/hoodie with a small NIN logo on it after years of different colored shirts with various other designs on them. I've been absolutely overwhelmed with too many different options lately - it's nice they eventually went back to basics.

I know how you feel, but in the opposite direction. This is the first time I've ever seen an official sleeveless that's not specifically a women's cut, and I actually have two women's cut shirts that I can never wear because my arms are too big to even pretend it's not a women's shirt but I loved the designs so much (one being the RED sublimated WT shirt from the 06 arena shows).

Awesome merch. I got the tour shirt with the dates on it and the bomber jacket. They ended up having the jackets, so I was really happy about that. It took 3 visits to the merch booth to see it all though. When we first went there, they didn't have the bomber jacket or the show specific shirt up.

Left for 1 hr, and came back and the jacket was all of a sudden there. I was really glad I went back.

And after the show, swung by again for a 3rd time just to see, and they had a "show specific" shirt up. The front was the cover of bad witch and the back was the NIN logo with the date and name of the city/venue.

That kind of annoys me that they didn't have the full merch setup right from the getgo. My girlfriend and I ended up getting the same shirt because there were limited options.

I had already bought 1 shirt and the jacket by the time I saw it, so no way in hell was I about to buy another t-shirt after dropping that much coin. They didn't even adjust the price of the jacket for the conversion rate. They charged 75 pounds, which is way more than the $75 US they were charging in the states. But... it's a nice jacket. Jesus. I will admit I have a ton of posters (NIN and random stuff) but no where near 50 NIN posters! That's an epic collection. Same I'm tired of having them in tubes, i'm just going to die and never enjoy them, I wanna hang a few random posters around the house and rotate them out once a month.

If you have a Hobby Lobby in your area, get your posters custom framed there. FAR FAR cheaper than Michaels normally. Yes the coupon posted above is actually a halfway decent deal for them b/c its steeper than usual. But their normal "discounts" of 50-70% that rotate out every week are usually BS. The frame job you described would NEVER actually cost $1000 there or anywhere else. That job would be at least $30 cheaper at Hobby Lobby imo. I just dropped off my large, obtusely sized 36x15 NIN BOTP 2017 tour print & it was $146 to frame with double matting and a gorgeous black frame.

Same trip I dropped off my 25x19 Bonnaroo 2008 poster. Double matting, 3 cut outs for passes/extras on the bottom, two wristbands attached to the matte. Required a $13 spacer also. $255 total.

Non fancy mattes at Hobby Lobby cost $24 or less. The really crazy ones are $36 and up, but those aren't necessary. Also, you can use the always available 40% off coupon on their circulars and website on the glass portion of your frame job.

Highly recommend them. Cheapest you're gonna find unless you have a hook up with a local framer. Sorry I get alot of things framed. Rant over.

I loved the WT era show posters, they all had a central theme and were based off that era's art. But this era... doesn't have a defining art style. I don't think doing a run of posters like that this time around would work nearly as well.
I am also hit or miss on these ones, some are "well shit I wish they had that at my show" and others are "I don't think I'd grab that as a free bonus with my merch" but the ones that I like I LIKE.

When I went to the Wave Goodbye shows in Chicago, I cornstarched both nights (wore black fishnet shirt and tank top and everything, too) and had a good time of it. Security didn't care at all.

If you roll it so that it expands against the tube (just be sure to tighten it slightly from the inside before you pull it out), shaking/moshing won’t do any harm.

Looks like they're re-using the same logo/design for the 2018 tour shirts as they did with Europe.

Considering the North American leg is "technically" deemed "Cold and black and infinite", I'm guessing there will be a different design for the North American run? Maybe they'll just cheap out and just add those words on the back and keep the same design otherwise.

I'm definitely interested in the long sleeve (especially with the text on the arm) & the patches.

Looks like there's a NIN baseball cap, beanie, enamel pin, button pack, patches, tour poster (same as Physical World?), artist poster (+variant), several shirts, a pullover hoodie (#14 which is cutoff on right), and a jacket (plus whatever #15 ends up being).

Definitely need to save space in the suitcase for the trip home after the show.

I overheard a guy at the merch booth telling someone that the shirts will be the same every night, (meaning #8 will not have different art every night), but just have the different dates each night on the back.

Huh. I think you might be onto something there. I really hope that’s the case! At any rate I’ll be getting one, but I do really dig that shirt she has in the promo photo, so if it’s he same shirt it’ll be that much cooler to have it. Good catch!

Why can't we just have a simple baseball cap (flex fit, or snapback, not those fucking terrible "dad" hats that for some reason are all the rage right now) with the standard white logo on it? That's all I want. I had to resort to making my own with patches from the NIN store, some generic flex fit hats on Amazon, and fabric glue. But it's not the same. And the glue doesn't hold all that well.

Headed to both shows at Red Rocks. I sure hope the event shirts are different from night to night. Flying in from Jersey for these shows. If they weren’t planning on changing the design, they should have printed both dates on each shirt.

Shout out to Trent for signing off on the extremely fair merch prices this time around, for real. I’m full expecting to drop close to $250 at Red Rocks, not including the possibility of spending an additional $200 on fancy stupid posters that I have to have. I want nearly every shirt.

During Tension 2013, I’m fairly certain I remember paying $40 for...a fucking beanie. I love that hat to death, but $40? Seriously? :/
