From a production standpoint, listening to the copy on Soundcloud (https://soundcloud.com/justlikeyouimagined), I think it's super bass heavy - mixed on headphones maybe? Great start though, I think the track would clean up real well with some post-production, and recording new drums. Keep 'em coming.

Yes @Leviathant (http://www.echoingthesound.org/community/member.php?u=1) , it was most definitely mixed on headphones.

i don't have access to live drums, so are you saying i should use different drum hits, or come up with different patterns altogether?

Do you wanna record me a live drum loop for it once you get situated? :)

and thanks for the feedback man

If you want your mix to sound better but don't have access to a nice set of monitors in a decently treated room, there's always the poor man's mastering technique of playing it in the car, playing it off your laptop, playing it from your computer speakers, and playing it from your stereo, and making EQ and level adjustments until you get it sounding decent in all of them.

Mixing in headphones always yields a bassy mix, because you're overcompensating for the lack of bass response in those headphones. I've gotten decent at it over the years, but I still do final mixing on my Yamaha MSP7s.

I think your patterns are fine, just that one day you might try something different making the sounds - whether that means recording live drums, or recreating the drum patterns in a drum machine that lets you effect the drum sounds individually.

My new song is ALMOST finished. All i need to do is record the vocals to the chorus.
But then i got the fucking flu.
@Leviathant (http://www.echoingthesound.org/community/member.php?u=1) perhaps you will like the drums better-this track is like 80% Yamaha QY-70, 10%Vox, 5% electric guitar and 5% acoustic, and represents an UNHOLY amount of time learning to manually enter MIDI CC values, since i still haven't got hold of a midi controller.

Edit: as a matteral fack, i just might show you the mix before a release it so you can lay a little mixing advice on me, IF you have time of course.
