I know, it might be too soon to start getting all soft and messy about this place, but I've smiled and laughed out loud (literally) at quite a few posts the past couple of days and I can't resist the urge to start the pumping and bumping.

I luv theruiner and aggroculture for their funny repartee in the nickelback/shit on music thread. I fear the reaper.

Tea, I don't recognize your name. I'm sorry if you were on the old boards and I just don't remember, or maybe you're one of the regulars with a new name and I'm just not aware. Or maybe you're brand new to the boards. Whatever the case, I've really enjoyed reading your posts. You make a lot of sense and have already contributed a lot of great conversation to the community. In other words, you rock!

So I've been keeping busy, feeling moderately sane finally, and I've actually been feeling alert and focused. I've gotten a bunch of new songs near completion, and I feel like I'm waking up out of a haze.

Wanted to say thanks to all the people who posted encouraging things in the "pissed off" thread. Much love to Allegro, theruiner, Marodi, and Sentient. Hopefully I can stay on the wagon and keep productive.

lots of love to REPLICA

I never looked in here, thanks bro. Right back at you!

Also, Fixer808 & theruiner - they always have some interesting things to say. I remember there was a post on old ETS about one of them being the other's grandfather or something... I just remember Fixer saying it was going to be the best Christmas ever.

Plus, The Becoming - for giving us that look into theruiner's life and times from The Drunk Tank entries.

marodi - Right back at you. If we're definitely alike on our social tendencies online and asocial tendencies in real life, at least being on ETS can help us experience some of the joy that Internet friendships can offer on ETS. It really does feel like I'm hanging out, even if for just a few seconds or minutes of my time. :D

And well, the understanding from you, and anybody else here is very much appreciated, despite some of my off-moments. Knowing that actually made me smile IRL, which is something I don't do very often. :)

@marodi (http://www.echoingthesound.org/community/member.php?u=125) @Pillfred (http://www.echoingthesound.org/community/member.php?u=393) - Thank you for having whatever time, patience, and understanding for your helpful and relatable responses to what seems to be my fucked up emotions and thoughts. I really appreciate it, because I'd drive myself nuts if I just had myself to speak to during those moments. :)

And no, I won't inundate you with questions on advice. I'll just try to be more chill, in spite of being guarded. (Albeit a bit paradoxical, but I should really relax my heart and mind more when it comes to dealing with rejection and how I speak to myself.)

Halo Infinity
11-04-2013, 04:38 PM
@icklekitty (http://www.echoingthesound.org/community/member.php?u=47) - Just thank you yet again. Like others I've met here, it's always nice to be understood. You just said all the right things at the right time. :)

@The_Prowler (http://www.echoingthesound.org/community/member.php?u=3152) - Thanks for your advice and reassurance as well. I'm always glad to not be the only one.

@henryeatscereal (http://www.echoingthesound.org/community/member.php?u=1572) @Yoshata (http://www.echoingthesound.org/community/member.php?u=2973) - It was very fun to discuss some of our similar interests, and thank you both for being so cool and chill with me.

@Kid Charlemagne (http://www.echoingthesound.org/community/member.php?u=92) @Jinsai (http://www.echoingthesound.org/community/member.php?u=272) @frankie teardrop (http://www.echoingthesound.org/community/member.php?u=889) - It was also nice speaking to you, and to Kid Charlemagne and Jinsai, you seriously hands down have some of the best jokes and opinions on music at ETS, and thanks for understanding me in spite of my "taboo" and "controversial" tastes here. :p

And with little of what I heard from your music Jinsai, it really does makes me wish it was out on CDs somewhere, or anywhere. I'd gladly buy your albums. It's no surprise that your taste in music, and your actual creations in music have blown me away. BTW, some of your posts in the political/religious threads are also a riot, and I definitely mean that in the best way possible.

The same goes for your too, frankie teardrop, as you're also very knowledgeable on music as well, and I certainly like how we share very similar tastes in retro gaming. :)

Yes, you can say I'm in a good mood for/at ETS right now. Thank you for making my stay here better. I was actually at the verge of leaving in my 5 to 6 month absence, but it's still nice to occasionally chat here from time to time.

@Leviathant (http://www.echoingthesound.org/community/member.php?u=1) - I know I've also called on you so many times this year, and this obviously goes without saying, but I'll still say it anyway. Keep up the good work. I really love how ETS has been doing, and it simply gets better and better. Your efforts and hard work are very much appreciated, and thank you for understanding somebody like me too.

And I still appreciate your post in the Non-Drinker/Non-Smoker thread. It's things like these that also make me feel great/glad to be a NIN fan. :)

Thanks! And actually, you can buy the MP3s for our second album off iTunes and Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003RQR7PU/ref=dm_sp_alb?ie=UTF8&qid=1383605367&sr=8-4), and if you want to listen to it for free it's on Spotify. I think the album we're finishing up on right now is a million times better, but...

And, some third party people are selling used CD copies of our first album on Amazon apparently... which I don't recommend you buy because it's really not very good... and they're asking for 30 dollars for it. Which is really weird...

Halo Infinity

I almost forgot to include the following.

@aggroculture (http://www.echoingthesound.org/community/member.php?u=318) - For being able to share some, or any of the controversial and taboo tastes, and indirectly helping get the said threads out of my system in the music section. Oh yes, and I still appreciate your advice on infatuation.

@allegro (http://www.echoingthesound.org/community/member.php?u=76) - Your insight and wisdom based on life experience has certainly helped me in my real day-to-day life, and I've also appreciated your advice, even if it was to others since I can always use it in some way to benefit me and improve myself. I'm still sorry for those awkward posts though. I'm just trying to find ways to better myself and have a better understanding of life, yet still need to work on self-control, and what not to say. I also like how we can see eye to eye in the introvert and childfree and/or unmarried threads too. I've also come to the point where I really take your advice to heart as it has helped me before.

Oh yes, and you are also by far, from the looks of it one of the most informed and articulate posters in the political and religious threads too.

@dlb (http://www.echoingthesound.org/community/member.php?u=307) @elevenism (http://www.echoingthesound.org/community/member.php?u=2475) @eversonpoe (http://www.echoingthesound.org/community/member.php?u=588) @sentient02970 (http://www.echoingthesound.org/community/member.php?u=444) - Like anybody else here, but still appreciated just as much, I appreciate whatever effort you put in understanding me and my questions, even though they originated from an addled mindset. Thanks again for not writing me off as crazy and weird. It was nice having those little conversations about life, even though such topics can be redundant and overwhelming in large doses.

I just thank you for being good listeners. (Which really should be readers on an Internet forum, but you get the picture.) :p

@ad infinitum (http://www.echoingthesound.org/community/member.php?u=80) - I never forgot about you, and I understand you haven't been posting in a while, but I still see you liking occasionally. This might as well be a compliment thread, as it is one anyway. :p

@Hazekiah (http://www.echoingthesound.org/community/member.php?u=1162) - I know we never really spoke to each other, but I always loved how you stuck with your guns in the Marilyn Manson and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles threads, along with any other threads you've made. And your writing style actually appeals to me, as you really know how to go hard when going in depth. I also liked reading your explanations and interpretations of Marilyn Manson songs, albums, videos, and concerts at the Marilyn Manson thread and Provider Module.

I just thought I'd let you know. And well, I know I'm stating the obvious but keep being you, regardless of what others say, and you really do seem like a chill dude in spite of your enthusiasm.

(Which is great, because loving and enjoying your interests is what matters in the first place, so of course it's going to make you passionate from time to time, and it's also one of the best ways to enjoy life. You've sort of indirectly helped me remember that, and I thank you for it.) :)

@playwithfire (http://www.echoingthesound.org/community/member.php?u=15) - I would feel bad for leaving you out of this, but thank you for simply understanding where I came from with some of my questions. You've really been such a great help, and I really appreciate it. I'm guessing we have some sort of nice understanding of each other in a way, even though we don't talk as much, since I too, can, and have been far too sensitive for my own good as well.

And in spite of this, I still like how you can still have a sense of humor about life from time to time, and remain to be a chill person. I'm also aware that you're undergoing and hard time, and I hope you also see yourself out if it without going nuts as well. If you're anything like me, I'd probably have some idea, because some things get so unbearable that I start to drive myself nuts.

Anyway, all the best to you, and have a Happy New Year. :)

I know I've mentioned this before, but your advice has benefited me immensely in real life as it has helped me to move on and let go of things, just like playwithfire and aggroculture's advice did for me. :)

@Leviathant (http://www.echoingthesound.org/community/member.php?u=1) - It's like never too early in a way, considering how ETS is way over 10 years old now, but thank you for making one of the greatest experiences of my Internet life possible, especially as a NIN fan. :) Your kindness, level-mindedness, and helpfulness as an administrator is always appreciated.

And sure, it could go without saying, but I still felt like getting it out there. ;)

Oh damn, I never expected to have called up on you this much again, but still, the help is always appreciated. I'm also still trying to find ways to promote ETS and The NIN Hotline to other NIN fans in real life if and whenever possible, because of that. It's like a verbal tic now. ;)

After it occurred to me that you weren't taking the piss, I've got to say that's both very cool and sweet of you to say. Heck, I'd rather be cute than annoying and hated any day of the week. And well, yes, I still roll with the punches in spite of it. ;)

For a moment, I was worried that it would've been a disaster. I knew that I shouldn't and couldn't let that go unanswered, and it seemed to be doing rather well at ETS.

I think I've also seen you at NIN.com, and I've also made the same exact thread (http://forum.nin.com/bb/read.php?62,1315907) at NIN.com. I was also KSalavante and SalavanteK at NIN.com. (I had to do that due to registration and posting issues.)

Some of the stuff you write about problems with social interactions is uncanny in a way that it resonates with how I used to see myself, and have in part hopefully transcended (but also in part stays with me). It's an old cliche, but I believe it contains a truth: until you respect and love yourself you can't expect anyone else to. I might be barking up the wrong tree, but that's the impression I get from some of your posts.

Halo Infinity

Yeah, I still have to work on that, while also working on trusting and forgiving others. And yes, you've pretty much got that part about me right, especially if you were to take a look in The Mental Health thread (http://www.echoingthesound.org/community/threads/2294-The-Mental-Health-thread-depression-bipolar-ADHD-you-name-it).

Oh yes, and I've also noticed that as well to my surprise. I actually wouldn't have ever expected any of that from you either, but of course, that's also an inherent part of being human and a work in progress, just like life itself from time to time.

Ok you guys want details.
It was a domestic dispute from september in which the police never should have been involved and me and the Mrs. BOTH went to jail.
The rough thing was that i had a bunch of pills in my pocket, and even though they were my own prescription pills, i caught a felony for bringing drugs into a jail.

Basically, she smacked the fuck out of me and i held her down and colored on her face with a paint marker. My mom called the cops and we BOTH went to jail that day. It's funny now but it wasn't so funny when they slapped me with two felonies over it.

I actually came out on top here...it was originally a 2-10 AND a 2-20 (years.)
But my girl raised holy hell for me to keep me from going to prison, and my family has paid a lawyer about $6000.
I wasn't supposed to go to jail at all, but the DA is out for blood i guess. They just charged me with one misdemeanor and declined to prosecute the two felonies.
I think i COULD have got probation, but i told my lawyer i can't handle fucking probation.
I went and bought 12 books. I can sit on my ass and watch tv and read for a few weeks instead of being on probation for two years or whatever.
I can do that standing on my proverbial dick.

The only thing that utterly maddens me about this jail is that it's so tiny and ALL the cells are single cells. So it's solitary confinement.
My girl and i have of course long since worked everything out and i will miss the shit out of her. But she will come to visit, i have plenty of money for commissary, etc etc....it's all good.

BTW, i'd LOVE it if any of you guys wanna write me.

@Kris (http://www.echoingthesound.org/community/member.php?u=244) for hanging in there and being more honest than most have the courage to be
Thank you for the compliment, and I really appreciate it. However, sometimes that courage is actually me not knowing how to say the right things, being completely oblivious to certain social cues, or me saying things I shouldn't say when I should really just calm down and log off ETS. I never really meant any actually harm to anybody though, and I'm still working on making amends, especially as a means to hang in there. I also thank you for also giving me useful advice in that aspect of life as well, especially when it came to self-esteem and letting go.

I suppose that it's "Likes" and little compliments that definitely count as a little thing that cheers me up. This post made my day here in spite of some of my screw-ups. And now that I've mentioned advice, I also still thank you for your advice on patience in pursuing relationships. Come to think of it, it's not only helped me cope with being single, but it has also helped me cope with my emotional problems. I easily overlook it whenever I get too caught up in my emotions, but patience certainly provides clarity for a lot of other things as well.

Thank you for being so kind to even remind me of such a thing when you didn't even have to remind me in the first place. :)

HI I NEED A ROOMMATE!

It was fun! Even though all of my previous burlesque shows were at gay bars, I had never seen men participate! So that was fun. I was swooning over one of the guys who was NOT AT ALL what I'm generally physically attracted to (although I couldn't see his face, cause it was all painted), but he had the most glorious calves. I have a huge, huge boner for big, strong legs. So I was like OMG over this guy who is most likely not straight.

it was alright except for they put you in a single cell...like solitary confinement, so it's kind of an introspective nightmare.
Also, i was coming off of xanax for about 8 days. (i thought i had refills but i didn't.)
My dr finally sent the xanax over and after that the sailing was quite a bit smoother.

Can't complain too much about the jail in this tiny town...they actually bring cookies and milk at night!

But the MAIN reason i can't complain...my original charges: one felony that carries a sentence of 2-10 years, and another that carries a sentence of 2-20 years.

I had a badass lawyer. Instead of 14 YEARS or 14 MONTHS, i got 14 DAYS. :D

And i read Gone Girl....it was AWESOME.

to be fair, we probably could do without all of that in the long haul. I mean, we've gotten this far with the "new" site and we haven't had a single shitlist thread yet, to my knowledge, because it just wasn't necessary.

Funny you mention this; as of yesterday, I'm the proud recipient of the very first Shitlist thread at ETS 2011-__ For laughs, I did a 'shitlist' search and everything, just to be certain. Sure enough, numero uno...and in less than 200 posts, too. That's got to be some kind of milestone.

@Charmingly Miserable : for being there and listening to me and in general being a supportive, awesome person
elevenism : for also being supportive and offering help and also I'm so happy to hear about you getting married!
icecream : for helping a brother out when it comes to collecting NIN
jessaminey : thanks for answering so many of the collecting questions I regularly have, even if so many of them are more or less a google search away; same can be said for basically anyone in the collecting subforum, you're all cool people who thankfully aren't exclusive and are really accommodating to people who haven't been able to get as serious/knowledgeable on so many of the different things that go into the whole collecting community, I've always been daunted by it despite a desire to get into it and that whole subforum has been helping me feel far more qualified/confident on buying and looking for things.
Ryan for helping fuel my burgeoning appreciation for Gary Numan beyond the "classic" albums and giving some great recommendations.
Leviathant for running the best forum I've ever been on

@RITC for hosting the site that let me fall in love with NIN Live even though I became a fan in the "dead years" of NIN Live, because of you and everyone contributing to Reflecting in the Chrome I was able to appreciate a whole other side of Nine Inch Nails that I otherwise would have only had Closure, AATCHB and BYIT to be aware of. I can't imagine how much work that takes, and it's a really fantastic labor of love.

And there's probably a bunch of other great people here that I like that I'm leaving out, which really just goes to show both how forgetful I am and how awesome everyone around here generally is. I've never felt so at home on a forum before, and it's just a very awesome site to be a part of.

Today is the happiest day of my life. Seeing our names in calligraphy on that marriage license...i've been crying tears of joy all day, and doing a lot of goosebump inducing cuddles. I've never felt such an overwhelming sweetness. I've never been so inclined to hold Lorien's hand.
SO much love. I fucking love it.

Leviathant - I still thank you for your advice, reminders, and reassurance. It has certainly made my year, and snapped me out of feeling down, while also helping me learn more things about myself and life in general, along with being a better poster while feeling more at home on ETS. :)

@Hazekiah (http://www.echoingthesound.org/community/member.php?u=1162) - I can definitely relate to being interested in that kind of way.

I also intentionally get into things to the point of getting burned out prior to switching to something else. I also still liked how you stuck with your guns, and sometimes like things that stand out a bit in the Le Cinema section. However, this also shouldn't be a surprise if you saw some of the threads I've made in The Musical Revolution section. It was also nice to read your thoughts on Marilyn Manson in general. You also seem to be right up there with Cringeon and S.D. as far as MM knowledge goes.

I also like your writing style. It seems to amuse and entertain me sometimes even to the point of cheering me up whenever I'm in the mood. It's sometimes even fun to imitate, especially in Provider Module. It was also nice to see more of you there as well. :)

I haven't met anyone yet who was weird or anything. Almost everyone here seems awesome except for like... 5 people.

@jezstyle (http://www.echoingthesound.org/community/member.php?u=260) - I just felt like letting you know that I appreciate your silent understanding via "Likes". I suppose that can also count as a little thing that cheers me up, as I've made some posts when I wasn't "all there" or when I "lost my mind". Thanks for actually getting me, and also answering some of my Marilyn Mason questions a while ago.

You're also among my favorite posters in the Marilyn Manson thread too. :)

I luff this board and the people that breathe life into it. There are times I feel I always say the wrong thing. So I'm just going to post this to @everyone: I hope I haven't offended anyone on this board and if I have it was completely unintentional, I love you all. You make this a great place to hang out, even if it's mainly lurking and liking posts.

i didn't see this until now and I'm glad I could help. And I hear you since I've been in an extremely awful, depressed mood for a few days and I think I needed it as much as you. If nothing else, it's probably why I found it as funny as I did since things are funnier when you need them to be. Or at least for me they are.

I luff this board and the people that breathe life into it. There are times I feel I always say the wrong thing.
I unfortunately also know what that's like all too well. It's one of the reasons why I'm still seriously considering to stop posting altogether whenever I'm angry, sad, confused, bored and exhausted. The fear of saying the wrong things also has an enormous hold on me from time to time.

So I'm just going to post this to @everyone: I hope I haven't offended anyone on this board and if I have it was completely unintentional, I love you all. You make this a great place to hang out, even if it's mainly lurking and liking posts.
These are also among my exact thoughts regarding ETS in general, especially as a fellow fan of NIN. And yes, you know a forum is great when you still can enjoy it via lurking and liking. Liking has also made lurking a lot more fun too, as it also turns lurking into a search for textual gold, or even a way to spread love beyond the List of Luv thread. :)
