Here's a link to the Video. Sounds pretty decent I'm hoping this album is solid. Never really got into sacrament too much, though it did have some good songs on it. It is nice to see Mark continuing to improve his guitar skills though.

They lost me with the Sacrament album (way too over-produced IMHO). The new stuff does tickle me, so I'll keeping a lookout for the new material. Thanks for posting the video!

I haven't listened to this band in years. When this thread was first made back in December it made me remember and revisit their old catalog. I like them just as much as always, even throughout the years. Last time I listened to them to great extents was in like 2007. I had originally gotten into them in 2005 or so, maybe late 2004. I can't remember.

I'll give this new album a good listen.

The new album kicks some serious ass. I like the evolution of the band. Give it a run when it drops.

Can't wait to see them again. I will wait for the new album to release before i listen to it however.

edit: Ok so since I am at school and they have a fat line to the internets i decided to get me a copy of the new album. It kind of sounds shitty but the riffage is off the hook, and Randy's vocals are beast. I have a feeling this album will be just what i need right now.

Good band, one of the best metal bands out there right now. But I agree with the Decibel review of their new album that calls them out on being complacent, unambitious, and happy to put out the same record over instead of challenging themselves to take it to the next level. LOG have good riffs and tight chops but they haven't as yet written what you might call classic songs.

Aside from shitty Guitar Hero, anyone who doesn't regard or recognize Laid to Rest as their's, if they are a metal fan, have been living under a rock. I can name Ruin, Laid to Rest, Omerta and Redneck (not my fave really) as their recognizable songs.

My favorite song is and forever will be Walk With Me In Hell.

Gonna have to disagree with that review. This record contains some really great riffs and they pull some shit off that they probably wouldnt have done in the past. This band seems to get a lot of hate.

damn, King Me is probably if not their best conclusion to an album.

The chest-beating racism and blind support for Randy spewed by some (American) fans over the last couple of days has me embarassed to be a metal fan.
Obviously I hope he is innocent and is exonerated, but can we please wait and see what the Czech police say? If were so cut and dried that it was entirely the fan's fault, this would have been resolved two years ago when he died and Randy would not be in jail now.

Found a Czech article here (http://tn.nova.cz/zpravy/cernakronika/zpevak-blynth-ktery-zabil-ceskeho-fanouska-je-ve-vazbe-ale-muze-se-vykoupit.html) that apparently has footage of Randy removing the kid from the stage (around the :55 mark). To me, I simply see him and a security guy both just kinda shoving the kid offstage...though it does look like the kid is movin' pretty damn fast. Either way, I've seen worse and if you jump onstage, be prepared to be thrown the hell off. Not just because of Dimebag...because it's always been that way.

Sutekh
07-03-2012, 10:01 PM
Hmm while I agree that if you dive onstage you should expect a slap and or throw... it is still possible for people to go too far in enforcing that. We've all seen security go too far, the "dimebag clause" doesn't mean bands & crew have no responsibility towards audience safety... especially in the rock/metal world where stagediving is not exactly beyond the pale

Don't know what happened here though

Conan The Barbarian
07-03-2012, 10:10 PM
Watched the footage, it appears the security provided the force needed to get the kid out. No way in hell Randy with his scrawny self can generate that much power, with one hand, and singing.

There is even footage where the kid got up, and Lamb of God let him do his thing.

An interview with Mark Morton, pretty much saying that the real tragedy in this is the death of a fan. These guys are some of the most down to earth dudes.

So it seems we will be getting a showing of As the Palaces Burn here in town after all. Tomorrow night and and the 31st, and i don't work either of those nights. I wasn't sure we'd be getting a screening of it here in town but I'm glad we did. It's things like this that keep wrecking my plans of an intimate night with suicide. ;)

I'm not into Lamb of God at all, but I think these are pretty great news: http://www.metalinjection.net/around-the-interwebs/lamb-of-god-frontman-on-indonesian-president-finally-a-metal-president-to-argue-about-slayer-records-with

I honestly think that the world (specially after last week events -Gaza, Ukraine, Syria, Iraq-) would be a much better place if more metal heads were Presidents. I'm not joking here.

The new album's a solid release. I picked up the deluxe edition and the bonus tracks aren't anything special. The first half is the strongest, and while the second half doesn't fall flat, it does lose steam. Still Echoes is a strong opener and Erase This is my favorite track on the album. It's a top notch song and probably one of my favorite Lamb of God songs to date. The guest appearances on Embers and Torches are both utilized perfectly, and Overlord does a fantastic job showing off Randy's vocal talents. Anthropoid is my least favorite track, and Engage the Fear Machine and Delusion Pandemic are both decent songs. It's a really good album overall. They've done better (my favorite will always be Sacrament) but if you're a fan or interested in exploring these guys' music, it's worth picking up.

I'll need to get it. Loved the band in high school with As The Palaces Burn, Ashes of the Wake and sacrament. I listened and downloaded Wrath around release but after that they fell off my radar due to the manslaughter bullshit and just a slow average/mediocre album offering streak. This new album sounds invigorated.

I just started giving these guys a listen as I'm seeing them next week with Slipknot. I'm really digging them, I don't listen to much metal really so I'm surprised how much I like them. Might check out the new album since they're playing a couple songs from it.

Pretty agreed with all of this. The middle of the record holds all the cards, so to speak. My favourite track is definitely "Overlord" – sounds like Alice in Chains sometimes! I disagree about the bonus tracks, though - "Wine and Piss" is awesome!
