I'm probably around 3k. Don't want to think it over TOO much...

JUST tickets? Or travel, lodging, etc, etc, etc?

just tickets; I'm sure most of us don't want to think of the latter number.

This. My first time ever seeing NIN wasn't even a year ago, and now I'm already at about 900+ on tickets, if you estimate ~100 per show. I guess that says something about how big of an impact my first NIN show had on me.

You remind me of me. I got into NIN around August 2008. By September 2009 I'd already seen 8 shows.

Probably a bit over 1K (in euros). Keep in mind that tickets were dirt cheap over here in 05 and 07.

Out of the 8 shows I have attended, a few of those I paid for all my friend's tickets as well because I wanted to make sure they would not miss on seeing NIN.
My buddy paid for my Tension ticket in Montreal. Was nice to be at the other end for once.
And only 1 show I bought through a scalper (Ebay).

So I think it's safe to say that I've spent close to 1k (CDN).

I came to ETS this afternoon in attempt to make myself feel better. (That was my mistake and no one else's)

l'll show myself the door out now.

Hasn't Fullmetal been to like over 100 shows or something? Should probably hide this thread from him.

Definitely close to or more than 1K.

10 shows, each costing me close to a $100 and me deciding to round it up to the closest ten.

21 shows over the past 20 years, gotta estimate the ticket prices at around $65.00/each, so ~$1,400.00.

^^^ Honestly not as bad as I thought.

I keep all of my ticket stubs, but I'm really too lazy to go through them all (plus, there's historical currency conversion to worry about). For argument's sake, if we use an estimate of $65 per 119 shows it comes out to $7,735.

pwned everyone. Just think if you taped every show you went to! You'd be a walking archive! :p

*Sigh* Makes me long for the days of $25 pit tickets during Self-Destruct.

Yeah, same thing happened to me, but starting with Fragility. No point in going back and figuring out, since whatever it was, it was more than worth it and if I had it to do over again, I'd go to more :)

Thank goodness for frequent flyer miles and hotel points.

In last 5 years (3 tours) I have probably paid quadruple the previous 15 years. (9 tours)

Easily.

So, Sarah gets PAID to go to NIN shows... and retired 15 years ago.

I don't even know what that means! ARE YOU CALLING ME A WHORE?!

As for the topic, I think that I'm at about $900. I paid scalper prices for Lolla last year, and to be in the 3rd row at the last show I went to.

24 shows since '95 I guess around $2300

Just $200, but if you counted merch at the shows probably $500.

I just came here to see if FULLMETAL posted, I couldn't imagine what his travel/lodging costs would be haha.

13 shows at £400, £500 if you include Sonisphere festival but I didn't go just for NIN. I've not included the GNR show in 1991 because I didn't know who they were. I've never incurred lodging costs either because I've always lived nearby or known someone who did

Money I've spent on tickets: Upwards of $500 I suppose.

Value of the tickets my girlfriend has won: Troubadour Club show (2013, LA) - people outside offering $1000 cash to be people's +1, $220x2 tickets to Irvine, CA show last week.

Then in 2009, I went as a +1 in Kansas City, MO to meet/greet/eat with the band. That was a $1000 (2 people).

So, I have not even spent half as much as the stuff I've been privileged to experience for free. I feel like that means I could still spend $100s more until it's actually like I'm spending just too much, on shows at least. Guess I don't have to worry about spending as much at shows in the near future, oh wait, now I'm . . . :(
I don't even know if that math makes sense.

$140 for a good ticket and a shirt from a Tension show. Only seen NIN once. I was gonna see them again this year at Albuquerque but I decided not to because it's over 100 miles away and other reasons.

I forgot about the extra Tension ticket that I bought for my friend that went unused. So, over 1k. And I've only been to 6 shows...

About $900, 7 shows. Upgraded my seats this past tour, so that was a bit pricey. Also bought a tic from a scalper..that was like $100. Would have been 8 shows if I could have found a way to the Self Destruct tour, had a lawn tic for that. Bummer, missed Bowie. Have kept all my tickets, recently threw away the Self Destruct one, it was literally just falling apart..and didn't see that one anyway. Was looking at some of my tics, one says 30.00 for ga. So cheap. I also took out a loan to buy tics to another show but didn't end up going, lol. Haha...that maybe should go in NIN Confessions.

Probably somewhere between $2,000 and $2,500 over the course of 16 shows. 3 of those being $300 festivals.

It's not the ticket costs that add up, it's airfare, hotel, merch etc... That I don't even want to think about.

I could have had a nice down payment for a house for all the money I spent travelling to see NIN, lol.
Least with the touring hiatus for the next xx number of years, my bank account can take a break.

If anything this has made it seem far more achievable and affordable to do some tour following than I'd ever thought! It seems like if you travel cheaply enough and maybe have places you can stay at (friends, relatives) or get the right deals on hotels, you could do a really solid run of shows without spending a ludicrous amount.

Let’s see...

Show #1 in 2009: $60 for ticket, $40 for shirt = $100

Show #2 last year: $100 for ticket

Show #3 last year: $100 for ticket, $500 for flights + hotel

Show #4 (this year): $170 for ticket, $800 for flights + hotel, $110 for merch

Close to $1,800.00 total

maryelle

I've seen them 60 times. Let's say 30 paid at $60-$130 each (since 2009, definitely over $100 apiece). About 10 comped, so zero cost. About 20 early shows at $10-$25. I think the math will be too scary so I'll just let those random numbers spill all fuzzy out of my head.

And that's NOT including the $400 or so I lost on not going to Europe. Never ever again will I buy presale for an international show.

Yogibear303

I don't know total...but I do know the most I've spent on a ticket was 250.00 from a ticket broker (are those even around anymore?) to guarantee a pit ticket for the self destruct tour. otherwise it's always been face value etc...whatever the cost it's always been money well spent and the amount I've spent in tickets by far dwarfs the amount I've spent on merch at shows..

ha, i haven't spent much.
i caught NIN in 94 and 95, in the day's when you brought $20 for a ticket and 20 for a shirt.

I think the pricing was similar in 2000.

And then i went to see LITS in tulsa....that was probably a little more.
