I didn't quite get Godspeed You! Black Emperor's album when I heard it last year. Now that I've seen them in person … I still don't get it. But as opening acts go, they did make an impression.

Very happy NIN played TDTWWA. On the downside, no Into the Void … but thanks to Even Deeper, I think I've clocked nine Fragile tracks in just three shows.

And of course, I got my wish for a ridiculously HM-heavy setlist. :)

The people around me in section 25 were very cool. I wasn't even the oldest one by a long shot. (Edit: And by "old," I mean I thought I was going to throw my back out on Burn.)

Also Reptile & Burn tonite.

In Two fucking ruled.

What didn't rule? Being in the second row next to some stupid ass people who had to ask me what the name of EVERY song was.

Ahhh, casino shows.

What DID rule was the kindness of RJK for giving me a ride all the way home. You fucking rule dude, and I'm glad to have gotten to know you better on the ride home. See ya in DC.

That was my third time seeing NIN, and this topped even the Terminal 5 show during Wave Goodbye for me.

Godspeed was incredible. I could see how a lot of people wouldn't be into them. My girlfriend said they'd be better in a smaller club or theater setting and I agree. I'm still really glad I saw them live because I never thought I would.

We were in section 2, row K (was the first row up against the barricade? I counted over and over and could swear I was sitting in the tenth row of seats). I've never had such good seats before and it was overwhelming. When the lighting really took off it filled my entire field of vision. I was blown away.

Reptile, In Two, Burn, and the Day the World Went Away were awesome additions from the previous night in Boston. We weren't on the floor, but the seats we had were at least twice as close as the Boston upper nosebleed seats we had. Both shows were awesome.

Best show ever! I can't wait to see them again tomorrow in Brooklyn.

"The Wretched" gets me every time. I think it's one of the best songs to be performed live.

I thought it was a great show. The backup singers really added to the songs.

Here are some photos I got from the show.

Incredible Show. My buddy and I were front row close to center. In Two was a great addition to the setlist. I was ready to explode when the encore started with TDTWWA. Also good to see them slip in Reptile. I think with the proximity of the CT and Boston shows, they planned on switching up the setlist to give some variety to those going to both. Also, very nice to meet up with RJK before the show for some pizza and conversation. It was great meeting you!

Yes, once the lights went down, I don't think anyone in the front row stepped away from the barricade. The entire front row went the length of the stage. Anyone trying to slip between the seats to get up behind us got tossed almost instantly. Before the show, special wristbands were given to the front row ticketholders to easily identify who belonged there. It was a good system, and thankfully almost everyone stayed in line. There was one smaller older guy trying to sneak through the seats. They got to him before any of us even realized it.

I wouldn't have expected them to substitute Reptile for Piggy, though.

If anything, this would have been a fine opportunity to sneak Closer into the set, since literally everyone but us got it on the LITS tour.* (I was fine with skipping it at the time, but the song has been growing on me since then.) We didn't get Reptile that time either, so I can't complain too much. :)

* Assuming setlist.fm is right. Given that the 2008 Uncasville show isn't even on there, they might be wrong on other things too.

We went to that show and then the make-up show in Worcester 3 months later (we got Closer and Reptile with Peter Murphy at that show).

That Worcester show was amazing. That encore with Reptile with Peter Murphy is burned into my brain.

It was definitely unexpected. I was waiting for them to start into Piggy, and got pumped when they started into it.

Gah! I knew the Worcester show was postponed, but in spite of that I expected to find Uncasville listed the day after Worcester, in November … because I forgot the show was in freaking August. :)

But that setlist says they played Closer, and I know they didn't. (I will track down the actual setlist before I dare to fix it, since my memory is clearly not perfect. Sigh.)

OK, now I'm starting to question my sanity. RITC and Ninwiki both show Closer on the setlist. I gotta dig up the recording now and make sure I'm not going senile.

NIN Tour History also says that they played Closer. But again, that could be wrong, too.

At some shows they didn't play The Wretched after The Frail, they went right into Closer. That happened throughout the tour IIRC.

I have recordings of both shows. The CT show is correct except that they played The Big Come Down after Survivalism. I'm not sure why it's not listed on setlist.fm.

Worcester got Head Down instead of The Wretched.

That much I do remember! :) There was so much grumbling here on ETS that even as a new fan at my first show, I was holding my breath waiting to see which way they would go — and I was very pleased that they did bless us with The Wretched. (I really liked the lighting on that one.) But since then I somehow got it in my head that they played The Wretched instead of Closer.

We got blasted with water right about half way through. Someone lost his entire cup right onto both of us. Honestly I didn't even care. I was so pumped at that point I wasn't going to let anything bother me.

Don't you love those people? I had a few show up behind me and a few a row ahead of me. They loved talking throughout the show and going to get more beer every ten minutes. One person kept talking about how he wished NIN would play Terrible Lie. If only they arrived before the show started, maybe they could have seen it.

I've never been one of those people (someone please kill me with a barbecue fork if I ever do). But I've got this sinking feeling that I just heard my unhinged "woo ooo woo" at the end of HLAH on Ringfedder's tape (http://reflectinginthechrome.com/shows/2013/20131012.html). I instantly regretted opening my mouth for that one ("Did I just do that? ... Dork"), so it would only be cosmic justice to have it preserved for a thousand years of ridicule.

Now, if it should turn out to be someone else's "woo ooo woo," rest assured that it sounds perfectly normal and is nothing at all to be embarrassed about. Wouldn't give it a second thought. In fact I'm not even sure I heard it, to be honest.
