Balls. Maybe Adult Swim or FX will purchase the rights and produce new episodes?

Total bullshit......

Futurama was easily the best of the animated comedies.

I am pretty sure there already was a thread on this...

Anyway, the show had a good run...or two.... I was surprised they kept most though not all of the old creativity and wit throughout the new episodes. I am excited for having a last season and I hope the authors give us everything they've got.

Yeeeeh.. the last few 'new' seasons have been ooookay.. some great episodes, some not.. I'm kinda glad they are finishing, I still can't wait for new episodes.. but don't want to feel that pang of 'it's just not as good as it was..' Hopefully the team can go on to do something new?
In other news my boxsets of the first seasons are starting to skip. notably on the 80's guy episode..this makes me very sad.

Also, it made me name my scooter after this:

When I get it fixed up I may try to get this made into a decal I can slap on the side of it...

Adult Swim may buy back the syndication rights, but I doubt they have the budget to finance new episodes. FX would also be a stretch considering their parent-channel, Fox, are the one's who cancelled them in the first place. Maybe episodes or "films" funded by Netflix or Amazon could be an option...

Meanwhile, that shitty animated show with Daniel Tosh gets a 2nd season (and will probably get more) Some things just aren't fair!

Now I have this stuck in my head while I'm trying to do serious work...

New episodes have begun again! The first two were pretty good! I enjoyed the return of Gunther.

The new episodes really are good! But it seems there's not much interest anymore.

Particularly the last episode with Lrrr and Grr.. it was actually really hitting the highs of the old series. In other news Season 6 *finally* came out in the UK.. only 2 years after the US got it.. watching back now some of he episodes are much better than I gave them credit for, plus the commentaries are still ace.

Im hoping for a Leela and Fry wedding in the last episode (yes, cliché but effective!)

Holy fucking shit.

Futurama officially revived at Hulu with 20 episodes. Original cast and creators to return (but no John DiMaggio...nooo!). (https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/futurama-revived-at-hulu-1235090020/)

Apparently it's pay negotiations that put John's involvement up in the air.

Sounds like he wants paying a bit more than the others for involvement.

Yeppers. There's quite a backlash on Twitter, with the cast, other celebs, etc. trying to push Hulu to give in but who knows.

It's like Futurama is destined to be turn into what the Simpsons has become.

No reason to bring it back without DiMaggio... Bender's the most iconic character in the series. Why even announce a revival before you've got him on board?

Looks like he's officially out. Bummer.

Is that a definitive statement? I'm not sure, he says he's hoping for the best.

If fans give the studio enough shit maybe they'll cave.

I find that statement pretty funny, talking about corporate greed yet wanting more for themselves...

Futurama isn't a huge show that we think it is (I absolutely love it but not everyone does). The popularity just isn't there for huge paydays for everyone IMO.

But hey, it's his talent and his choice.

Corporate greed and wanting to be paid fairly for your time are not the same thing.

I know that Citizens United said that corporations are people too but come on.

It's good that he's back, but the whole situation left the bad in my the mouth.
Could they, like not fucking announce it before the cast was finalized?
